Comparison of early mobilisation of an intensive care patient (test person) with / without LIANA
The time study was carried out with the kind support of specialist nursing staff at the Barmherzige Brüder Clinic in Regensburg with one test person.
Explanation of terms
A patient who requires intensive medical measures for the therapy of (an) acute critical illness(es).
Mobilisation of a patient within the first 72 hours after a sudden movement-restricting event.
Central venous catheter, arterial blood pressure, dialysis catheter, tracheal cannula, feeding tube, drains.
The bed is a standard bed without a wheel/motor in the middle section.
Situation description of the case used for the time study
- Intensive care patient with the described accesses.
- Patient in isolation due to germs.
- Patient on circulatory support medication.
Nurse/caregiver or physiotherapist/caregiver
Measurement of time was started/stopped when staff entered/exited the patient’s room.
- The patient was mobilised into the mobilisation chair/liana.
- Implementation of the measures.
- Mobilisation back to patient’s bed.
- All monitoring cables, infusion lines were properly arranged, the patient was positioned.
- Disinfection of the device (depending on the patient and germ load).
